CULLET RETURN SYSTEMS IN THE
FLOAT GLASS INDUSTRY
Edge and sheet crushers are the most im-
portant items of cutting line disposal equip-
ment on float lines. The crushing equipment
must be capable of pre-crushing glass
sheets and strips of various widths and
thickness, and then reducing them pro-
gressively to the final grain size required.
With float glass in particular great care must
be taken in selecting suitable materials for
the abrasion surfaces, so that glass faults
do not occur when the cullet is re-melted.
