Forward thinking

Most materials are stored in either steel or concrete silos. The special geometry of the silos themselves and sophisticated emptying devices ensure an even and continuous material flow in the silo which prevents the formation of stagnant areas where old material can collect.

In regions with extreme climatic conditions in winter important raw materials may also be stored for weeks in a separate building alongside the actual batch house. Automatic storage and retrieval systems can be used to move the warmed material to the batch house storage silos.

Cullet for the production is stored in silos in the batch house. If space is available there may also be open storage areas for cullet of various glass qualities and colours. This material is moved to the cullet storage silos in the batch house by front end loaders as required.
