CHALLENGE

Wiegand-Glas is a family-run business group committed to innovative packaging concepts made of glass and PET (polyethylene terephthalate).

The company required an exciting and major plant overhaul in Ernstthal (Germany), including reconditioning and enhancing technology.

As a leading supplier of batch technologies and cullet handling equipment, EME was an ideal choice for this large-scale project.

EME APPROACH

We added five new scrapers to the cullet return system, installed new belt scales to the cullet addition and fitted de-dusting units to the cullet transport.

We also completely overhauled and reconditioned the crushers and added a filter dust silo with pneumatic suction system to limit contamination.

RESULTS

EME’s solutions have helped the Wiegand-Glas Ernstthal plant increase capacity and add efficiency across the plant’s nine production lines.
